Head of the Mortal Spear
Humans are one of the most populous mortal species, with short life spans, but high ambitions. Their focus on making things better for future generations are why they are often the leaders of worldly affairs.
Although they can work with anything and anyone, the staunchest allies of humanity are Elves and Halflings, who have a intricate relationship with man.
Humans are always so hasty in life. All this ambition, all this driving to accomplish something before their miserably short lives end... And yet, they may be the greatest out of all of us. I fail to imagine our kind acomplishing anything before the threats we refuse to address immediately snuff us out. Humans are a blessing to all of us.
All of them are so stressed about everything, they are lousy eaters, and the zeal that they put into every endeavor! Humans are strange folk, truly. But they at least look out for all of us. Humanity has been both our shield and our spear for millennia, always pushing back the darkness that surrounds all of us. Without them, our Heartlands would burn bright, not with the sparkling of street lamps and festive pyres, but with the torches of war.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The reason the term "humanoid" exists, humans sport two arms and two legs, mounted to the right and left of their torsos, with a head sitting on top.
Genetics and Reproduction
The normal human way. The only notable feature is that they are one of the few species that actually suffer from incestous coupling.
Growth Rate & Stages
A freshly born human baby is pretty useless. They become toddlers around 3 years into their life, where they are at least somewhat mobile. From there, they proceed from child to teenager into adulthood, which they achieve around 18 years of age. A human is considered old by age 65, and usually die by age 90-100, though some particularily hardy individuals can far exceed that, with one instance of a 186 year old being fairly well-known in academic cycles.
Ecology and Habitats
Humans are capable of surviving everywhere, given the need to. They usually improve their chances of survival by manipulating their enviroments to their needs.

History
Humans have been created fairly early in the history of Orvas, spreading far and wide fairly quickly, with many scattered populations forming all around the continent. From that point, their histories also were also wildly different, though two elements remains consistent: Humans surviving against an enviroment trying its hardest to kill them, and them becoming the reason for their own empires.
