Humanity is one of the most versatile and numerous races around. Humans can be found all over the world, some even sporting different abilities based on their culture, enviroment, you name it.
They were also the ones that have most recently ruled most of the known world, and although Humans still rule a good chunk of it, the Empire of Crownrock has broken apart 150 years ago, ending 1509 years of Human primacy in the western world. In the east, the Empire of Wuthing still reigns supreme, though it too has been crumbling in the past few years.

Shortly after the Divine Shattering, humans found their way to the northern quarter of Orvas. Covered in ice and snow for all but 3 months a year, they quickly found out that life up here was tough. Until one day, when Thor, God of War, Lightning and Thunder, came to many groups among them, offering them a gift to help brave the Frozen North. This was the Northman Blessing, which indeed greatly helped boost the rate of survival, but also brought about a terrible curse.
Since then, the Northmen mostly became known for both their highly efficient raids and their tendency for trade. They also once served the Empire of Mortals, in the form of the Varangians, the elite bodyguard of the Imperial Family.
