Optional-Guild Membership
Guilds and Livery Companies are key to Aorlisian urban life. This guild layout, based loosely on London Livery Companies, is not the only schematic of this kind. There was also the Florentine Guild system, for example. Sometimes a profession is divided among multiple guilds, and the player has to pick one or the other.Technically, you may only belong to a single guild, but sometimes craftsmen have been known to flout those rules. The guild a craft belongs to may not always make sense, but these organizations and alliances between profession developed organically, making some strange combinations.
