The Great Old Ones are alien invaders hailing from unfathomable realities from far across the dimensional gulf of space. These nightmarish beings are not fully corporeal, but in a phased state. They often have huge bat-like wings and near limitless power.   They are not technically divine, but their power is godlike. They don’t care if mortals worship them, and they show no preference for adherents if summoned.   The Old Ones can hibernate for ages on end, although their consciousness and power are still extant in some inexplicable way. When they manifest on Aarthus, the Old Ones are usually gargantuan to a mind-bending, out-of-proportion degree. These beings are not strictly three-dimensional, with extra edges and appendages that cannot be seen for certain angles or bulge through rips in reality.
