Life, Identity
After the shifter civil war, the shifters should be categorised by their animal into Ylvan and Arañan shifters. A family of sea serpent shifters, the Maliks, found this idea repulsive and pleaded with both factions to rethink this division of the shifter population. But they were only met with hostility from both factions and were soon forced to flee to the neighbouring country of Kalon. From there, they set out to live their beliefs that shifters, though part animal, were still predominantly human. When hearing about the hetaceans and the himorphas as hybrid species, the family could not help but be intrigued. After meeting both leaders of the two humanoids, the Maliks decided that this was their way forward. They willingly set out to drain their Arcane Reservoirs and turn into human-serpent hybrids. Now, they are known as the hinae and this was their birth.
