Cressida

Most notable about the Cressida's general appearance is the presence of monolids and typically straight black hair present among the majority of humans, though what differentiates the Cressida from their other common-ancestor compatriots is the presence of the particle dust implanted into their skin from centuries of living on both Yueh and Kumibetsu.   The particle dust of Yueh is made of the ancient sealife of Kumibetsu passing through the atmosphere, leaving their skin with a iridescent hue of freckles while Kumibetsu which has more concentration of the dust has a shimmering dark brown to gold hue.   While Yueh has a more moderate gravity leaving it's inhabitants relatively unaffected, Kumibetsu has a slightly more, leaving its inhabitants taller than their counterparts.   Also due to the dust in the air the Cressida have enhanced lung capacity, able to handle harsher conditions for longer than other humans/species.

The Cressida are notable for not only being the founders of the modern day Basilica, but also for being part of the Sector 3 sub-group of humans that have all been linked to the same geographic area on the assumed human home-world. Chief of all however is the fact that the Cressida are the most wide-spread sub group of humans in the galaxy. When the Cressida joined the Systems Alliance they already had triple the population than other worlds typical at discovery due to the existence of two Cressida home-worlds.   Yueh is technically speaking a moon of Kumibetsu, the two massive masses set on a collision course in a few million years.   The Cressida are a massive military force in the galaxy, holding prominent seats on the Systems Alliance Council. When they joined galactic society it was by their own volition after they manned massive forces in search of other sentient life. As such, the Cressida entered the galactic community with a bang, ready to prove their worth. They are chief scholars and military minds, though that does tend to get overshadowed by the Basilica and its massive reach. In fact the Cressida still hold primary governmental roles within the church, often sending praise in the form of favours and gifts to their peoples which to be fair, the governments of neither Yueh or Kumibetsu have ever refused.
