The Keys of Telku / The Temple of the Apocalypse pt. 14 / Fos the 1st, 3593 CE / 4-26-20

The battle against the Horned Legionnaires continues on the grounds of the Temple of the Apocalypse. While Waldo and Uli fight with Legionnaires atop the ancient watchtower, the others rush to meet the advance of a cadre of the armored shock troops through the high grass that has grown all over the temple grounds. Henry in his mosquito form manages to harass the soldiers by dragging one into the air before dropping him, even as Roisyll rains down lightning and Moss sends bats after the enemy. Meanwhile, the sorcerer Tenser has attracted the notice of the ravens perched atop the temple's parapets, and they swarm down on him and Moss, harassing them until Moss is able to evade them and Tenser burns many of the birds out the sky with magical fire. As Adrienne reaches the tower to aid her comrades, she is confronted by none other than Lareth the Beautiful, who, despite poisoning Adrienne with one of her arrows, is driven back into the tower by the coordinated efforts of the party's swashbucklers. Adrienne is able to resist the poison using Lareth's own artifact which she previously looted. Waldo has come to realize that he stands over the tower's hatch, blocking the way for other Legionnaires to join the fray, and valiantly stands his ground firing his wand until he is felled by brutal strikes from a Legionnaire's halberd, who in turn is brutally gouged by the transformed Henry's proboscis. As Lareth bolts the door to the tower behind her, she calls for her men to batten down the hatches, signalling that an end to the battle may be nigh.
