The Keys of Telku / The Temple of the Apocalypse pt. 12 / 3592 CE / 3-29-20

General Summary

While at the Boatmen's Tavern attempting to draw out Canon Terjon or the mysterious "K," Henry Skalitz hears the sound of the tavern's door being bolted shut and then a voice he recognizes all to well, that of of his arch-nemesis, the arsonist Kevin Krupp. Soon there is smoke and flames licking the building, but with his resistance to fire, Henry is able to crash through the tavern's front door and escape serious injury. He sees no sign of Kevin Krupp. When another patron attempts to follow him out and is badly burned, Henry takes the injured man with him, leaving the rest of the tavern's patrons to their fate. Back at the Inn of the Welcome Wench, Adrienne, Roisyll, Blur, and Waldo are still talking to Arty. They are joined by Moss, who warns the others that some thugs with their descriptions are out looking for them in the streets of Dyvvers. Arty excuses himself and hurries outside, but moments later the party hears a scream that Adrienne knows belongs to her former teammate, and everyone rushes outside except Blur, who like most Dyvvers townsfolk, is used to the sounds of crime and violence. In the street outside the Inn, Adventurers find that Artimus has been brutally murdered by a gang of thugs lead by Lodriss, the half-elf bard who previously threatened Waldo. A stand off begins, but when Henry arrives, one of the half-orcs in the group reveals that he was aware of the plot to kill the aasimar, and a fight is soon inevitable. With a brutal combination of might and magic, the party, joined also by Blur, is able to lay the thugs low, but Moss detects a larger force approaching, and they escape back to their sailboat just in time to see the arrival of a platoon of warriors in horned armor, bearing the sigil of the Temple of the Apocalypse.
