The Keys of Telku / The Book with No End pt. 1 / Eire the 5th through the 7th, 3592 CE / 9-22-19

The Adventurers find themselves standing in the midst of the Barren Lands, on a desolate plane outside the now collapsed Tomb of Anubhak. Nari pulls out a magical golden compass and with Roisyll and Moss's wilderness knowledge, the party sets off in the direction they hope will take them back to Liem. After surviving a massive dust storm which rages across the land on the second day of their journey, things only become more dangerous for the party on the third day when they find themselves being hunted by a wyvern. They head towards the nearest shelter, a mysterious black tower standing starkly in the midst of the barren landscape. There they find a woman named Alejandra, an oracle who claims to have been waiting for their arrival to assist her in exploring the tower and securing a powerful artifact within, one which she does not wish to fall into the hands of the Baalites. After gaining entry by following the bizarre instructions inscribed in the language of the Ancients on the tower door, the party must maneuver around an ornate rug with a warding glyph, before finding themselves in a large dining hall. Here they are confronted by two constructs, an animated statue and an iron cobra. The statue, also speaking in Ancient, decries that "only the master may sit!" before a poisonous gas that effects the victim's reason begins pouring into the room and the doors slam closed and lock. A fight ensues between the party and the constructs, with Nari blasting the iron cobra to pieces with her magic missiles, while Roisyll and Adrienne attempt to break down the doors. Alejandra, guessing at a double meaning to the animated statue's words, sits at the head of the dining table, in an ornate chair obviously intended for the tower's master, and is swept down a chute to a lower level. The rest of the party follows suit in order to escape the poison gas that has filled the dining hall, one by one disappearing into the mysterious darkness below.
