The Keys of Telku / Into the Fire pt. 9 / Von the 21st, 3593 CE / 9-26-21

The Adventurers plunge into the waters of the lake underneath the rocky ledge which holds the hoard of Brazzermal the Burning. They swim over to investigate the ship they find there. Once on board, they discover the ship is haunted by the spirit of the pirate Captain Barussa. Despite his undead powers, the spirit is defeated when Stele calls on Accuris to make the spirit solid, whereupon it is quickly cut to shreds by Adrienne's magic sword. Meanwhile, the party can hear Brazzermal the Burning raging above them as the dragon searches its hoard for the Key of Telku. Dhakab the dessert warrior continues to taunt the dragon until in a blind rage, the monster rushes Dhakab, snatching him in his jaws but plunging into the lake below, having forgotten his wing was previously damaged. The shockwave rocks the ship as the party holds on for dear life. They also discover to their dismay that it was apparently the power of the haunt that was keeping the ship afloat as it begins to sink into the the now boiling water. Adrienne rushes below and discovers the Key, which she quickly retrieves. Marrow calls upon her inner powers and manfests wings which burst from her back. Using the party's rope, she flies up to the ledge, where John, Baijo and Bladehelm have just arrived. Together they are able to hoist up the rest of the party just as the ship finishes sinking into the boiling lake.
