The Age of Worms / Rakthar's Way pt.3 / Eire the 24th, 3592 CE / 12-8-19

Lulu, Marrow, and Jennie stand in Orak's Bathhouse, locked in by the proprietor, who suspects, rightly, that the party has been snooping around. Lulu attempts to bluff their way out by accusing the bathhouse owner of impropriety by trapping three women with him. When Jennie tries to appeal to his sense of reason, Orak seems unsure of himself, simply stating that "the master wouldn't like it." Pressing the dwarf only leads to his further breakdown, until he cries out loudly for someone named "Blacktooth." Moments later, the door to Orak's office opens, revealing the same rotten-toothed hoodlum who attacked Marrow the previous night. Only Marrow recognizes, and is unsurprised to see him transform into an over-sized dire rat. A pitched battle commences between the party and were-rat. Meanwhile, Rikit has been exploring the complex underneath Orak's bathhouse, discovering that it it appears to be inhabited by the vampire goblins, but also, surprisingly, beds intended for medium creatures to sleep on. As he heads back to inform his comrades, he hears steps coming down the stairs. Orak, using the distraction of his companion Black Tooth, has gone through the iron door in search of the missing deep gnome, Rikit, still invisible, is able to get the drop on the manic bathhouse owner. Up top, Lulu, Marrow, and Jennie press the attack against Black Tooth until he finally falls with a last threat that "Rakthar" will seek revenge, at which point Marrow, concerned about having to fight the wererat again in the future, pulls the body into the bath water as Lulu draws out his last breath to fuel her own life force. Jennie rushes to pursue Orak, but arrives in time to see the distraught dwarf kill himself rather than risk being captured by the party, still claiming allegiance to a mysterious "master." Rikit relays what he saw below the bathhouse, and the party finds useful items in Orak's office, but then decide they must retreat and rest before pursuing any further action.
