Strange Aeons / The Rushton Terror pt. 7 / Eire the 10th, 3592 CE / 8-4-20

As they part ways with Otis Remsatter at Rushton's docks, the party makes their back to their cottage with the unconscious druid, Darla Coronet, in tow. As they pass through the dark and empty streets, they are suddenly confronted by an ectoplasmic creature that Hemlock recognizes as a revenant, a type of undead bent on revenge. It accuses Gleorn of murder and assaults the unsuspecting dwarf. As it grabs him, Gleorn's mind is flooded with images of the beating of a local roustabout as Esp, Hemlock, and others he doesn't recognize look on. He realizes with a start that he is actually seeing the memories of his deceased cousin Rorgrim. It appears that the confused revenant has mistaken Gleorn for his cousin. As the rest of the party rushes to their dwarven companion's aid, they are surprised to see his pet ferret Scout leap from the dwarf's shoulder and transform into a bear, joining in the defense of his master. The revenant lets out a soul-piercing scream, and Garrok finds his mind overwhelmed by memories of the roustabout, Clint Murdock, as he was beaten to death by Rorgrim. Overwhelmed by the images, Garok flees. The rest of the party is able to destroy the revenant before it finishes its mission to destroy the man it mistakenly blames for its death. Finally reaching the safety of the cottage that has been loaned to them by the cleric of Accuris, Winter, the party prepares to get some rest when Esp discovers pages from a journal tucked under the mattress of one of the cots that appear to match those of the Seeker Jacoby Wierus which they found in the library at Stonebriar Asylum. That night as they sleep, each party member is transported, some for the first time, to a dream space that replicates a place of respite from their memories. Their they train with an aspect, real or imaginary is unclear, of one of their personal mentors. The party wakes up the next morning feeling as if a week has gone by, their power and skills having increased.
