Strange Aeons / The Rushton Terror pt. 26 / Eire the 12th, 3592 CE / 4-6-21

A party of Adventurers have invaded the grounds of Orchid Hill, familial estate of Baron Haver Lowell IV, in order to get to the bottom of strange happenings in the seaside town of Rushton, including the disappearance many of its citizens, as well as the memory loss of party members Hemlock and Esp. Hemlock and Esp were former employees of the Baron it seems, before he had them interred in Stonebriar Asylum, where they had to close a rift to the Dream Lands caused by one insane patient's connection with the otherworldly being known as the Tatterman. Hemlock and Esp are joined by others, each with their own agenda; Gleorn wishes find one missing cousin while avenging the death of another; Sigvald came to Rushton to meet with the local priestess of Accuris, who is also among the missing; Trakir seeks vengeance for members of his caravan killed and eaten by the strange fish men who are allied with the Cult of Hastur, the group who may be at the center of the troubles, and Desh is here to kill as many of those aforementioned cultists as she can, for reasons of which she has not yet elaborated. Having defeated the initial force of enemies barring their way, the party takes some time to investigate the grounds. Garokk has descended into a hole he discovered in the carriage house. To his horror, he finds a pair of eldritch creatures in the cavern below, which, though they appear to be comatose , nonetheless send his already broken mind reeling. Meanwhile Sigvald provides some respite to the haunted spirits of the carriage house's butchered horses. Upstairs in the carriage house's sitting room, the party destroys a basidirond, another guard provided by the Dream Witch, Darla Coronet, and also discover a ledger for books on esoteric and mystic topics which the Baron had previously ordered from Distryll. Proceeding next to the guest house, the party confronts the two women Scout had previously spotted during his reconnaissance. After a tense stand-off, the cultists attack!
