Strange Aeons / The Rushton Terror pt. 22 / Eire the 12th, 3592 CE / 3-2-21

After taking the guardhouse of Orchid Hill, the party comes up with a strategy to deal with the rest of the guards. Taking a defensive position at the guardhouse, they brace themselves for an assault as Sigvald calls out a challenge. Things seem to be going to plan as a contingent of cannibals emerge from the kitchen area, bloody horsemeat still staining their lips, and charge the party only to be cut down. However, the cultists in the main house show the better part of valor and retreat to gather reinforcements. The party charges the main house in the hopes of reaching it while they can still divide and conquer, but as they do so, Gleorn spots a face in the upstairs window of the cookhouse and realizes that they have not finished with the cannibals yet. Meanwhile, Hemlock throws open the door to the house's main foyer, and while he can spot no apparent enemies waiting, Trakir does spot an idol sitting among the knick-knacks that fills him with a dark foreboding.
