Strange Aeons / The Rushton Terror pt. 11 / Eire the 11th, 3592 CE / 9-8-20

General Summary

The party continues to battle their way through the zombie guards of Fort Hailstorm, hoping to locate some clue to the fate of the Blackguard agent Lady Romana, as well as the others who have gone missing from Rushton. This time they have encountered zombies carrying a prisoner, though none of them recognize the unconscious man. As the battle is joined, the man revives, revealing that he is a cleric of Ishtalar by praying to the avenging goddess and flooding the room with positive energy. The tables turn on the zombies, who quickly fall thereafter. Introductions are made, and the man tells them that he is Trakir Firebrand, a wandering missionary of his goddess. Several members of his caravan went missing, and when a party went out to investigate they were ambushed, leaving Trakir the only survivor. Seeing that their missions align, Trakir joins the heroes, contributing his healing abilities as they shore up their battered brawler, Garrok. Moving further through the fort, the party continues to find stairs leading up the parapets,as well as a flight leading down into a basement. Looking to clear the next room before venturing down into the darkness, Garrok finds it locked, but Gleorn quickly remedies the situation with a swing of his great-sword. However, in the dining room beyond, they discover robed figures who may very well be the source of the strange footprints Gleorn tracked to the basement stairs; footprints with webbed claws!
