Strange Aeons / In Search of Sanity pt. 28 / Eire the 9th, 3592 CE / 6-2-20

The heroes have confronted the vile Tatterman, the otherworldly nightmare creature that has been haunting the dreams of the residents of Stonebriar Asylum. The Tatterman has been freed from the dream world by the death of his conduit, the cult leader Zander Ulverus, and now seeks the ancient tome that summoned him in the first place, The Chain of Veils, a book that Esp in the process of actively attempting to destroy. In a fury, the Tatterman slashes the throat of the cleric Haskell, killing him, and then attempts to take the book from Esp. But Yew uses his glaive to deadly effect, first severing the Tatterman's arm and causing him to drop the book, and then decapitating the ancient evil before he can kill Esp. The hungry flesh has been stopped by Garok's fists, but it returns to life through regeneration and the unwitting actions of Esp, and must be destroyed for good before it can drag the psychic off and consume her. As the slime creature bursts in a grisly mess from Garok's blows, the party regroups, gathering items from the corpse of the Tatterman and Zander's stash and preparing for their next steps.
