Strange Aeons / In Search of Sanity pt. 22 / Eire the 8th, 3592 CE / 3-17-20

The party is in the midst of a fight with ghouls in the west wing of Stonebriar Asylum as they attempt to reach the western tower where they believe they will find one of the oneirogen, followers of the mad Zander Ulverus who have become conduits to the Dreamlands, allowing that realm to infect and trap the residents of the asylum. As they attempt to push their way through into the room at the tower's base, the party is caught in a pincer with more ghouls rushing to aid their fellows, including one who seems suspiciously familiar, a ghoul missing a hand who goes by the name "Ichabod." They suspect rightly that this ghoul is the same apostle whom they manacled in store room and later escaped, but only after eating his unfortunate fellow prisoner. Ichabod appears to be the leader of this pack of ghouls, and though the odds seem overwhelming, especially as Haskell is paralyzed and Garok badly injured, the party is able to prevail through teamwork, securing themselves in the tower room and then slaying the majority of their attackers, including the vicious Ichabod. With the assault ended, the party carefully climbs up the damaged staircase, making their way to the top of the tower. There, they find the oneirogen, and prepare an assault, hoping that destroying this creature will help free the asylum from the curse of the yellow mist.
