Strange Aeons / In Search of Sanity pt. 14 / Eire the 6th, 3592 CE / 11-19-19

Making their way back to the sanctuary, the party is confronted in the library by a group of ratlings and dire rats lead by the ratling sorcerer named Ramby. A fight breaks out, with the ratlings using their powers to summon even more rats to assail the party. After fighting their way through the rats and driving the ratlings back to their ruined office hideout, Ramby calls a truce by offering information on the Tatterman. The party agrees, and Ramby tells them that the Tatterman is a servant of the King in Yellow, who may be one of the beings he refers to as "Great Old Ones." He also reveals that the Tatterman visited Stone Briar Isle many years ago at the behest of a witch, and that he is here because of "the dreamer," whom the party guesses is the patient Zander Ulverus mentioned in Eileen Lozando's journal. After completing their parlay with the ratlings, the party returns to the sanctuary, where they confer with Winter and treat their wounds, preparing for the next day's expedition. With only three days of food remaining for the survivors in the sanctuary, the party knows that time is running out to solve the mystery of Stone Briar Asylum.
