Aleria Campaign / The Seekers / The Frozen Oath pt. 3 / 3588 CE (3/19/19)

The party once again camps to recover from the battle with the air elemental. After they have rested, they journey on, finally reaching the temple, a stone building atop a mesa, accessible only via a road of ice. They cautiously approach the front door, and, deciding to test the waters, knock. When there is no answer, they open the door to reveal a large entryway, decorated in strange foreign style unknown to all of them. There they find the corpse of the frost giant previously assassinated by the team of goblins, her body preserved by the unnatural cold of the temple's interior. Before they can investigate any of the front hallway's antechambers, they are confronted by a patrol of frost giants and winter wolves. A fight breaks out, and though the party is ultimately victorious, Quigley's pet raptor Blue is slain in the melee. With no time to mourn, Quigley puts Blue's corpse in his bag of holding, and then the party barricades themselves and the bodies of their enemies in one of the antechambers, a constellation room designed to mimic a night sky none of them have ever seen before. Once again the party rests before venturing into further danger.
