Shorthand Overview
This is a primer, that goes over the important information of Animundi. It is written from an Out-Of-character standpoint, and is here to help people understand the world.
World Lore (In terms of common knowledge)
- Fantasy World based on (west) African Lore and myths
- Other myths and legends exist, due to the parallels between them.
- Also a bunch of crap I stole from Magic: The Gathering’s design and stuff WoW threw out. I mean shit
if they want to throw shit like dragon aspects away I don't see why I can't take emWas written well before Dragonflight, but I'm not gonna stop binch IT WAS 10 YEARS AND WE WERE ON YEAR 8
- Big Emphasis on duality. Not necessarily good and evil. Is a big thing in African lore
- Especially active and passive energy.
- Techlology is slightly more advanced than your standard medieval setting, but still favors magic. 50/50 split solidly. Apparently it's called Clockpunk
- For real world similarities, Anything and everything from the European Renaissance to the 1750s is fine and almost common, whereas the next hundred years become stupid rare, with the hard cap of advancement being 1880s.
- Doorknobs don’t exist lol.
- This rule is fairly broken for seafaring tech because of it’s commonality with in literally every other setting so don’t @ me
- Guns exist and have for over a thousand years. Other tech is still reliable because gunpowder explodes or gets wet.
- Literally no such thing as technological compression, iz all big and bulky
- Iron is hella important
- Everything still looks african sorry not sorry
- I had to reformat this because WA's text editor doesn't have indents innately, and it's WYSIWYG is hot garbage, 0/10 tbh
