Giants

In the ancient annals of Eldria, long before the age of man and elf, there existed a race of majestic and formidable beings: the Giants. Towering over the tallest trees, their immense forms cast long shadows over the land they ruled. Their sinewy muscles rippled beneath their skin, each movement a testament to their unparalleled strength, capable of bearing their colossal weight with ease. The mere sight of a Giant was enough to instill awe and terror in equal measure, for they were the undisputed sovereigns of Eldria, feared and revered by all who dwelt within its bounds.   Created by the enigmatic deity Nekros, the Giants were believed to be the first creatures to walk the earth. Legends whispered that they were immortal, their lives stretching across the eons, untouched by the ravages of time. Their numbers were few, yet their presence was felt in every corner of the world. From the towering peaks of the Frostfang Mountains to the verdant expanses of the Verdant Vale, the Giants' influence was inescapable.   Among their most fearsome abilities was their mastery of soul magic. This ancient and arcane power allowed the Giants to bend the wills of others, commanding the minds of men, elves, and beasts alike with but a thought. Only the Golems, constructs of stone, were immune to this insidious form of control. The Giants' dominion over soul magic rendered them virtually invincible, for no army could stand against a force that could be turned upon itself with a mere flicker of will.   The other races of Eldria—humans, Elves, Sidons, Nargolians and others—lived under the yoke of the Giants' tyranny. Their societies developed in the shadows of these colossal overlords, their every action shaped by the fear of incurring the Giants' wrath. Rebellion was an unthinkable folly, swiftly and mercilessly crushed by the Giants' overwhelming might and the inexorable pull of their soul magic. Whole legions would march against a single Giant, only to find their wills subverted and their strength turned against them.   Despite their fearsome reputation, encounters with Giants were rare. They dwelled in remote and inhospitable regions, far from the prying eyes of the lesser races. Yet their influence was omnipresent, a constant reminder of their supremacy. The great cities of Eldria paid tribute to the Giants, their rulers' commands executed with unwavering obedience, lest they invoke the dread curse of soul magic.   One of the most storied Giants was Thalor the Unyielding, whose very name became synonymous with indomitable strength and unbreakable will. Thalor's deeds were the stuff of legend—he single-handedly crushed the rebellion of the Twelve Clans, subjugating their armies with a mere glance. His fortress, carved into the heart of Mount Drakkan, was said to house relics of unimaginable power, guarded by enchanted wards that only the mightiest of sorcerers could hope to breach.     As the ages passed, the Giants' dominion began to wane. The other races, driven by desperation and a burning desire for freedom, forged alliances and sought out ancient magics to counter the Giants' soul magic. The rise of the Golems marked the beginning of the end, as these tireless constructs provided a bulwark against the Giants' once unchallenged power.   The final blow came during the Cataclysm of Eldria, a great upheaval that reshaped the very fabric of the world. The Giants, beset on all sides by rebellion and the relentless advance of the Allliance of the Summit, were finally overthrown. Their once-mighty fortresses lay in ruins, their dominion shattered.   Yet even now, whispers persist in the dark corners of Eldria—tales of Giants who still roam the forgotten places of the world, biding their time, waiting for the moment when they might reclaim their lost glory. And so, the legend of the Giants endures, a testament to a bygone era when these majestic beings ruled unchallenged, their power and majesty etched into the very soul of Eldria.
