Robin and Phoebe, best friends since elementary school, are bound together, unable to be separated. As juniors, with only a few more months until summer break and thus senior year, they plan on having as much fun as they possibly can before they're forced to study for their senior year. Living in a town in the middle-of-nowhere Oregon, there isn't much to do in their little town, and so their eyes turn to the forests that surround their home. They plan an entire camping trip, hoping to create a sense of adventure with their own imagination.
Robin and Phoebe get their adventure, but not in the way they intended. On the first day of their camping trip, they are suddenly sucked into a new world, similar but all so different from Earth. This world, filled with magic, mysterious beings, and strange creatures, is amazing and fantastical, but dangerous and harsh. Old wounds are festering in this world, and chaos and war is about to erupt as the two best friends are thrown into it.
This world won't let Robin and Phoebe return to their own unless they help it fix itself. With great reluctance, they begin their journey to undoing the mistakes of the past, and to heal the new wounds threatening to rip everything apart.
