The "Scourge" was a devastating event that destroyed much of angaran technology, particularly anything that was based heavily on that provided by the Jardaan. It took the form of destructive paths or regions of energy scattered throughout the galaxy, and persists to the current date. Evidence has been collected that indicates that the Scourge was an artificially created event, not a natural disaster.
