'Zombie Fungus'
This fungus is reason why Zombies, Skeletons, and Mummies are so common, for when a corpse is infected with the spores of this fungus, it will quickly take control of the corpse. The fungus will use the corpse as a food source, and for mobility to track down for make new corpses to infect.
Zombies are relatively fresh corpses that have been infected, mummies are mummified corpses that were infected (they don't last as long as a fresh corpse) and skeletons are very old corpses that have been stripped clean by the fungus.
