Wyvern, General
True Dragons, and have been known to challenge True Dragons much larger than themselves.
Wyverns seem to have an ancient rivalry with Basic Information
Anatomy
A first glance one may mistake a wyvern for a true dragon, but there are several key differences. While both have a pair of leathery wings, wyverns are bipedal, while true dragons are quadrupedal. Both have huge talons on their feet. Wyverns also have a long, spiny tail that ends in either a spiked club or hooked stinger.
Despite their large size, wyverns are very maneuverable thanks to their long, flexible spine that makes an s-motion as it walks. Their hide is highly durable.
They have huge, powerful jaws with rows of razor sharp teeth.

Genetics and Reproduction
Wyverns become highly aggressive during the mating season, and it's not uncommon for competing males to kill each other.
Females will lay about 6 eggs per clutch, and hatchlings will have a low survival rate.
Ecology and Habitats
Wyverns are native to alpine and mountainous regions. They maintain territories that can range for hundreds of miles and are highly territorial.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Wyverns require a vast territory so they can hunt moose, elk, bear, and even livestock. They will dive from the air, grab the prey in their talons, and strike the prey using the stinger on their tail. While they prefer to find weakened prey before the hunt, the venom in their tail allows them to take on much stronger prey they otherwise couldn't take.
Biological Cycle
During poor weather or scarce food they hibernate.
