Basic Information

Anatomy

These scorpions are huge, and have the massive pinchers and the stinger at the end of their tail.

Biological Traits

Defense Arches tail over back when threatened.   Ecological Importance Prey for many other larger creatures.     Movement Stealthy.     Venom Venomous sting.

Genetics and Reproduction

They have complex courtship rituals, often involving the male and female clasping each other's pinchers, arch their tails, and do a circular 'dance. If the male doesn't perform well, the female may eat him.   The female will give birth to live young, typically about a dozen or so per brood. The young will ride on their mother's back until they can hunt and defend themselves on their own.

Ecology and Habitats

These nocturnal creatures are native to warm forests, plains, caves, and deserts.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They typically eat other invertebrates, grabbing them with their pinchers before stabbing them with their stinger to inject venom.
