Anatomy
These large bovids have small, upward pointing horns, shaggy fur, and a large shoulder hump.
Biological Traits
Defense
For smaller or solitary predators, bison tend to stand their ground. Against larger predators or pack hunters bison will stampede.
Genetics and Reproduction
During the mating season, several herds may gather together, ensuring genetic diversity. Males can be very aggressive towards each other during this time, to the point where they have been known to kill each other.
Females are very protective of their calves.

Native to temperate and cold plains.
