Ghosts
Soledad
The mangled spirit of a woman that worked in the offices of the Piscado Pintado cannery. Raffael is in possession of her journal. She dresses in the fashion of the 1930s, and José can never seem to see her quite clearly as if her upper half is always cast in shadow. Blood runs in rivulets down her arms and legs though, and her clothes are soaked and stained with it. It remains unclear if her death was accidental or intentional.
Agatha
Agatha, for reasons unknown, haunts the grounds of St. Jerome’s. She’s a favorite story of many of the boys who have lived there, though most of them don’t really believe it and try to rationalize her wailing and moaning through the halls as something else. She was a virgin martyr in life and was gruesomely tortured, having her breasts cut off, amongst other unspeakable horrors. Through use of the ouija board, she has repeatedly demanded that her bones be taken from the Sierra Nevada mountains and returned “home.”
Don Francisco
The footsteps of the Countess’ first husband seem to linger in his study, which has been kept for him.
