Court of the Wood
The Court of Envy
Courtiers Courtiers of the Wood often try to outdo other changelings in whatever their field of interest or expertise is. Their desire to be the best and win the admiration of others drives them to excel wherever possible. Whether it is in academics, bravery, appearance, or skill, the Wood finds some way to draw the green eye all that pass it by. Some are obsessed with achieving their lofty goals only through 'good form,' acting in an appropriate ways and through appropriate channels to show everybody that not only can they do it, they can do it without cheating. Others aren't above lying, cheating and stealing as a means to their ends, and there is much internal debate and temptation on both sides of this divide. Lying must be done judiciously though--braggarts who are unable to back up their claims lose the respect of the court. (The caveat is that it's perfectly alright to lie to humans, in order to foster their emotions and harvest glamour, and even lying to the other courts may be acceptable in the right context. If you boast to the Court of the Wood and get found out as false, you will be booed out and made a laughingstock. Bad form, sir.) Rituals Heraldry - Court of Wood Aesthetic
The colors most associated with the Court of the Wood are deep greens and shades of brown. Bundles of oak, ash or pine sticks with leaves and needles are a common motif, or wreaths of ivy. Animal symbols include brown bears, wolves, deer, and owls. Courtiers of the Wood may carry bows and quivers as a sign of their courtly allegiance, or a walking stick, lantern or an axe. Mantle
