The Flight Ability of Santa's Herd of Reindeer

As Christmas Elves, we know the reindeer are able to fly year-round. We see them fly out on missions and come back all the time. Out there, what we call the Land of Men or the Mortal World, not many do. Some of them believe that Santa's Reindeer can't fly except on Christmas Eve.   They are both right and wrong. Long ago, reindeer flew freely and we had magical powers. But now, belief in magic (what is called Ancient Power within the Christmastide Mystical Kingdom and by all magical species) is basically dead.   The magic received by the Christmastide Crystals is only really given to us in November and December. Although all acts of goodness and light come our way throughout the year.   Santa even declared that our magic is not to be used (although we have very little magic within us left) and that the reindeer can't fly. Now, certain reindeer do fly throughout the year. Santa's Main Team do not. They mainly spend the first few months resting from their flight.   And maybe I should now discuss the limitation as the Humans think it is.  

The Christmas Eve Limitation

Some shows and movies do say that on night a year, Santa and the reindeer will deliver toys to all the good girls and boys. Humans may take this to mean, and some movies and shows also say it directly, that the reindeer can only fly on this one night.   However, this is a modern notion.   But it allows children to wonder and heightens their anticipation on Christmas Eve. These both may have Christmas feeling more special and better for children's imaginations. For children are the the reason the reindeer can fly without magic on Earth/Gaea.  

Without the active Ley Lines and the belief in magic worldwide, Christmas Spirit and certain deities power the village. But what is most interesting to us are two things.  

The Special, Temporary Magic of Flight

While there is no Law of Christmas Magic, the modern idea and belief that Santa can't fly except on December 24th is because television and movies created the idea. This created more magic for the Spirit.  

Magic Food/Oats

Some television and movies suggest that "magic oats" or "reindeer dust" exist. These do not exist.

  In truth, the reindeer are only limited on orders of Nicholas as Santa Claus or Father Christmas. But this does reflect Christmas Spirit. It is something rare, something special, and a wondrous sight appreciated by children who don't have to see to believe. They believe and it is enough for them.
