Prophecy of Power

Prophecy of Power

When belief in magic is barely surviving, one shall be born. A Human yet to awaken his magical powers or status. To know who it is, seek out both a gold aura and the green and red aura around one babe.   And he will cross a gateway into a world of pure childhood dreams. And yet, he is more than Human. He shall be something unseen in the world-beyond-the-world. Something much bigger than he knows.   Only if he chooses it. Maybe he's a Guardian? Perhaps the most important one.   He will be a catalyst. He will, in the future, help his own kind to remember the fact that love and hope can light the way forevermore. He will do things nobody has ever dreamed about.
The Prophecy of Power is the only divination that comes after magic departs from Earth/Gaea. Where it came from is as mysterious as the prophecy itself. The Guardians, including Honorary Guardian Gertrude Claus, did believe that there all Guardians had already been picked.   Now, they’re asking many questions.   What do they need a guardian of to truly complete the circle of leadership? And who might this final guardian be?   And why now? Why do they need another Guardian now?   Now, the Guardians can do nothing but wait. For the child shall be born and there’ll be a sign. And when that sign comes, it won’t just mean the last guardian has arrived. It will prove that someone exists who can possibly do more than what the thirteen can. Or who could provide additional power to help something happen.   The Prophecy of Power has come because the thirteen remain hopeful. It also holds a promise that one shall come and they will complete the circle. A circle that’s been expanding for centuries and was only thought to be complete. What they will do is unknown. But it is said to be reality-shattering.   And until birth, hearts watch and wait. They will be ready to welcome their final companion. What will inevitably follow will prove if the child is the hero.

Chosen One

The Prophecy of Power, a significant one for the Guardians of Childhood, has been nicknamed as the “Chosen One” or “Saviour” prophetic statement by those who know of it. What is this child meant to do? Will they heal the divide between Humans and the mystical world thereby bridging the gap and uniting both peoples? Will they bring magic back? Are they powerful?   No one, not even the Guardians, can say for sure. It’s a waiting game, and in that way, it echoes the decades that black slaves in the United States spent hoping for freedom. The truth of the prophecy, like freedom and equality, won’t reveal itself right away.   Patience and hope are the keys to unlocking what is to come.

Guardians

As the leaders of the Guardians, we believe this prophecy is unique. There are two reasons we believe this is the case. The first is that this divination emphasizes that this child is special. The second is that the Guardians believe it has to do with Humans and their relationship AKA their lack of belief to magic.   Will they {the child-yet-to-be-born} have a greater destiny? That’s unknown.   Do the Guardians disbelieve this baby might have more destined for him? No. But what is the more destined? That is a good question as it is unclear at this point.[/aloud]

Spread/Apocrypha

While many of the former prophecies were known to the entire Congress, Gertrude Claus and the Guardians of Childhood are the only ones to know of this divination. None of Santa’s Elves know about it. Neither do other living beings. Almost like it is a secret kept quiet from the entire Mystical Family of Christmas Magic.   And it is. But Nicholas had a good reason.   The way everybody lost their powers and friends and family when magic departed wasn't fair to those in the valley. And then all the governing was shouldered upon thirteen people who have many duties and responsibilities made it even more difficult.   In order for the people to not be let down in case it wasn't fulfilled, Nicholas and Gertrude never mentioned it to the residents in the valley. None of them needed hopelessness and despair or a broken heart again. But the fifteen who DO know truly understand the weight and a sense of destiny they’ve undertaken.

Historical Basis

The history of one becoming a new Guardian stands well-documented through each Guardian which has taken the oath and gotten powers. Records indicate that new ones are found and asked then given powers by the Spirit. These documented instances are demonstrative of the previous divinations.   And yet, no evidence within official chronicles or folklore to justify the existence of a Chosen One. The idea remains unsupported by official records.   Unless, of course, it’s one of those ancient secrets—something hidden away since the dawn of time, whispered about only in the oldest myths, and known to just a handful of people who guard it closely.
