Nicholas and Gertrude's Love Story

As Mother Nature and I presided over the wedding, we wish to speak on the matter of this ceremony of holy matrimony.   Well, I'll start with when Nicholas came back from one August reindeer training session with a woman. A mere mortal! The audacity of him violating the known Secrecy Act! Well, it turns out that this lady believed in Christmas and loved Nicholas so much that she saw magic as a young adult.   Let me just get into that fateful day.

The Story of Nicholas Saving Gertrude

The story starts on August 24, 1814 (the day Washington, D.C. and the Presidential Mansion (now known as The White House) and other governmental buildings were burned).   At the home of The McBride Family, Gertrude Holly McBride (the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. McBride) was currently being physically assaulted and about to be raped by one of the Redcoats (British Soldiers) until Nicholas saved her.   Gertrude Holly remembered her first day on Earth. And Nicholas said she had been kidnapped by an Anti-Christmas Being - Anti-Christmas Beings after birth. And he had saved her, now twice apparently. They hugged. They kissed.   And apparently when they kissed literal metaphysical energy sparks flew as both auras commingled into one. Then two soldiers came up the stairs (because they thought noises of a certain nature were bound to be loud) and tumbled back down. A metaphysical swirl of crimson came down. Gertrude's father saw Nicholas and was amazed.   Then Gertrude came down. At this point, both said they truly loved one another. Nicholas asked her father, whose name is Daniel, for his blessing to marry her. He gave it wholeheartedly. As did her mother, Janey.   Nicholas took it upon himself to "get rid of all the trash in the city". This meant he would use his voice to call upon the natural deities and his Meterokinetic powers. A thunderstorm and a tornado came and forced the British Redcoats to retreat.   Back at the Kingdom, we were waiting on him. He finally came back with Gertrude in tow. Said he'll tell the full story later but wished to marry her. Well, we saw her aura and that was a great sign. Then we started talking to her. We got to know her and her heart. Then we apologized and had to ask the tough questions.
I must certainly shall interject! Father Time is too long-winded and we need to hurry this up. I know also that the audience won't read thousands of words on one webpage.   Anyway...   We loved her! We loved she and Nicholas found each other. And it wasn't a magical thing (Okay, maybe it kind of was!). But we hadn't met her and so we were genuine with Santa when he asked our opinion.   She then met the Christmas Elves. They also told us their opinion of her. Same as us.   We said he was not in violation of a pact. And she was absolutely the woman they adored and gave their blessing to him to marry her.   And she asked us, in turn, to allow her parents to come. Nicholas taught her the basics of his world. And so, we gathered for a special session soon thereafter. Each leader gave their permission for Nicholas to marry and for her parents to come despite the act in place.
Okay. Guess we'll turn to the wedding itself.

Wedding Preparations

It was after the congressional special session when Nicholas asked Nicholas when she wanted to be married. She said around the Solstice the year after.   Gertrude and Nicholas flew off back to her parent's house. They spent a few days talking to her parents about the wedding and how they should act as many people were coming and to not judge who all was there.   Janey and Daniel said okay. And Nicholas left Gertrude to pack, amongst other things.   As 1815 started, so too does Gertrude's packing. All of her relatives had wished her luck on her new adventure and hoped she would be safe throughout her remaining years. They didn't know. And they couldn't know. The Secrecy Act prevented it.   Before Gertrude left that summer to focus on wedding preparations, she loved on her parents and told them she'd see them real soon.   By September, the planning was done. We had them decide on everything. They liked an outdoor wedding as it also allowed all the animal species to come. We were to be co-officiants. And they each wanted a sleigh (Gertrude to take her to the place and both wanted one to leave the place).   This planning was mostly done by Gertrude who wanted to impress the mystical leaders but Nicholas was glad he could continue being Father Christmas while she had her moment. Gertrude actually didn't need a church service but she wanted to be respectful to the leaders and Nature and Time understood.   Gertrude and some elves actually went the opposite direction from the cavern, five miles away, and had some trees cut for a space for the outdoor wedding. The clearing looked ready to be decorated. They all left. Gertrude and some Elves (the non-Christmas kind) later made sure to have some more trees cut to make a wooden arch. This wooden arch would be at the center and would where Nicholas and Gertrude would marry.   She left after for a few months of rent. Everybody had their orders.   She returned in October for a wedding dress. Mother Nature, The Tooth Fairy, Mother Goose, and Queen Boreal took her to the Cavern of Great Christmas Crystals. There, they asked the Spirit of Christmas to make Gertrude a glorious wedding dress. And it was a glorious dress that fit her perfectly.   Mother Nature and Mother Goose teleported themselves and Gertrude to a cabin built specifically for the wedding and Gertrude's dress. This place would be where all three woman ensured Gertrude could get out of her dress. Here, she would also put it on on her day.   On the 18th, Elves would get a sleigh and go get Gertrude's parents. They came and also had a cabin for the wedding.

Seven Days - The Wedding

The week was already quite a busy week with Christmas being a few weeks away but the Guardians helped. The elves chose not to panic.   Reindeer and elves worked while others helped to prepare for the wedding. Yetis and polar bears too.   The location of the ceremony was being decorated. Elves were bringing out their festive clothes. Excitement and joy filled the air! Just how Christmastide is suppossed to be!

The Wedding Itself

We gathered first for the Annual Yuletide Ceremony. Yes, including Gertrude. Always a great one!   Then Gertrude went to the cabin with Mother Goose. Mother Nature was there while Gertrude was putting on her dress. Then she left the two there. Nicholas, and some elves, dressed himself in a red suit.   Nicholas knew that her parents would come in a sleigh after seeing their daughter's dress. The sleigh, just a red with green cushion two-seater of what would be the Claus-Class Sleighs, was at the workshop waiting on him. He got in it. He rode and saw the location. It was beautiful!   Many Christmas (and Wintertide) Beings, deities, and those of the mystical world were there.   Nicholas got out and walked forward. Nature had said all seemed well. Time would begin exactly on time. It wasn't that long before her parents came. They also got out. They walked to the front. They bowed at the Guardians. Her father went to the back. Father Time began. As if on cue, a a four-deer hitch came pulling a sleigh (a Clarence or a Berlin) that sat Gertrude and Mother Goose comfortably. At the door stood Daniel. Out stepped Gertrude with help from Mother Goose.   Daniel escorted his daughter to Nicholas and Their Forever Graces. He sits down. Once the vows are said, Gertrude and Nicholas exchanged rings. Then Father proclaims them both as Protectors of Christmas Spirit and Guardians of the Christmastide Mystical Kingdom. They transform into magical royalty and are also proclaimed with these titles. A huge cheer went up!   Everybody was all, "Bless these two as Protectors of Christmas Spirit!"and then some. A dinner and party after helped to ensure they had some time together wand with close family.   After Christmas that year, they ensured all was good and left on a honeymoon to somewhere. Only I can't say where to. It's a secret.
