Fortune's Kin

 

Fortune's Kin LLC is the organization which hopes to make a difference, albeit local, in a world full of destruction and desolation and cruelty.

    Before Baxter begins his journey into being a Guardian, he embarks on a personal mission to create a little light in the world by graciously giving money to the Clermont Ridge Town Fund. This fund, started in the beginning before Clermont was a true and legal town, is made for large city upkeep expenses (as in multiple projects which include renovations and revivals). Nothing was in there. But Baxter knew these people had saved him at his lowest point. They didn't know. But they would learn.   Baxter gave a small part of his wealth to help the town revive and create itself anew. This began his personal mission of helping people who, like him, wish to start a new life or to help in times of need.   People who had no hope. People who were unable to see a brighter future. These who came here because they lost everything and therefore had nothing.    

History

Birth

Soon after Baxter gains his wealth and creates his estate, he feel it is his duty to give his hard-earned money to this forsaken town. And he lets this idea of giving rumble in his head. Until he not only wishes to help Clermont Ridge but also people who deserve it. However, some people out there feel like they have to prove themselves and aren't comfortable with free money. Except Baxter has an idea for getting around that.   A week goes by.   The day comes. Baxter is ready. He travels into town. The Mayor and The Sheriff and the town council learn Baxter is planning on supporting the entire restoration and revitalization of Clermont Ridge. And also help those in need.   The Mayor, The Sheriff, and a few others couldn't believe that someone who had been helped out by them would turn around and offer help with such a big project. This is when Baxter informs them of his parents. And they understand why Baxter feels like he has to do this.   He also explains the idea of the other project. Something called Project: Giving Back.   At the next town meeting, Baxter informs all council members what he feels he needs to do. Each member graciously accepts Baxter's act of kindness and love. A few meetings of planning later, Baxter gives them the money to proceed.   Outside of the council, Baxter informs some others of his other project. They say it is needed. Baxter would agree as he know Clermont Ridge is not lively at all.   Months pass and Clermont Ridge has started revitalizing and rebuilding. Months have passed when people hear it is being restored. They are glad it is. Sevreal come in wagons. They're looking for something better. As more come, Baxter and his staff and others help build houses. Others help build businesses. Some people are nice and bring extra horses and wagons or supplies. In early spring two years later, the town has a revival and restoration ceremony.   Almost a year after, Baxter has created a non-profit organization to make a difference. He hopes it will stand as a testament to hope, love, and kindness. This organization, named Fortune's Kin, has everything but a board overseeing the organization. Several people came up to him. He trusted some and others were new faces. They wanted to be part of something, specifically this non-profit. Baxter creates a committee overseeing the use of funds so he can do other things.   Close female friends helping Baxter with Fortune's Kin and eventually helping it succeed within Clermont Ridge and connected counties.
