What if they have a type of clothing that is squirrel-suit-esque? Strap from shoulder to hip when not deployed. Then if they bring their floaty wrists down to their hips, they can hook into the strap and deploy and have a squirrel suit thing attached to their floaty hands. They could also have clothing that is always connected to their floaty hands to be flowy.. ???
