Session XXVIII

The party spend a few days in the city of Gannorran beginning to uncover a sinister plot.

Archmage Bolrara informed the party that the next meeting of the Hall of Dominion was to happen in a week's time. Since they had nothing more pressing to do, the group decided to explore the city. The magic-technological wonders of Gannorran were on full display and the adventurers stood in awe of the horseless carriages, the cable cars, and strange factories.
Eventually, they made their way to the tower of the Volkoth-Gath, one of the four order of Magi who rule the city, to find a cure for Edwin's dementia. They managed to get him in and out of the doctor's office without paying any fees and received a prescription for the medicine.
Apart from helping Edwin, they also performed various acts of mischief, including almost stealing a very expensive sewing machine from a local seamstress. They also visited the Grand Cathedral of Asmodeus and perused its library for useful information. Later, while wandering the streets of the city, they ran into a strange preacher who spoke of different lords, ones not beholden to Asmodeus, but who are more powerful by far. The adventurers dismissed him as crazy and retired for the night.
In the middle of the night, while they all slept, Vamoozh was awoken by arms grabbing him, stuffing a rag into his mouth, and attempting to drag him through the window. Luckily he caused enough of a ruckus for the rest of the party to awaken and make it across the hall of the tavern to his room. The kidnapers fought tooth and nail, until finally escaping through the very window they entered by and driving away on a large magi-tech carriage. The party attempted to follow them but the carriage was much too fast. However, they had managed to slay two of the assailants and they both wore amulets depicting the head of a goat. They clearly belonged to the same group, but why would they want to kidnap one of their party and what was their goal?
