The Party arrived at the Nexus without further complications and spoke to Mexelis, the Faerie Dragon, about the nature of the Nexus, the Corrupted, and what has to be done. He told them the history of the Corrupted first and then the history of the Nexus. Melvin then showed him the scroll they had found in the Corrupted encampment. Mexelis translated it, telling them they were orders for a Corrupted mage to prepare fire magic so the army can clear a path through the Deep Feywild to the Nexus.
Since the Corrupted are too numerous the party realized they cannot defeat them on their own and they need the help of a powerful being. As the Corrupted are servants of Tiamat, they decided Bahamut, her natural enemy, would provide them with the help they need. Mexelis remembered a land where Bahamut is worshipped by most and the High Priest there should have a very direct connection to the god. They decided to travel there, find the High Priest, and convince him to speak to Bahamut on their behalf. Mexelis also introduced them to a Warforged he had recently acquired, who was an old noble and necromancer trapped in a construct body. He would accompany them on their quest.
Mexelis opened the Nexus for them, and they stepped through the portal to find themselves on an island in the middle of an azure blue ocean, with some other islands visible on the horizon. The island was mostly bare, with nothing but a couple of trees, a stream, and a decrepit temple on one side. A strange ship was also approaching from that direction. They decided to investigate the temple, and found statues of people in strange poses in the back garden. The statues turned out to be petrified humanoids, and as the party was arguing about what could've caused this petrification, a medusa attacked them. They managed to defeat the monster but only after she petrified two of them, Maple and the Warforged. They could save Maple because she had wild-shaped into a crocodile and killing her changed her back unharmed, but their newest companion would remain a statue until a strong healing spell was performed on him.
At that point, the strange ship arrived and its captain, Hippokledes introduced himself to the party. He agreed to take them to his home city of Carasus, where an election was soon to be held. The party sailed for a couple of days until arriving at Carasus and being greeted by a view of the massive temple of Bahamut on a hill, surrounded by the sprawling city.
