Sect of Task
"The Taker and the Holder! The Wrester! Task the Holy! Task the eminent! Bless us, your humble followers! Guide us to our rightful Hoards! Give us wealth, give us power!" ~ a prayer from the Tome of Wealth
Divine Origins
Task had been worshipped alongside the other Dragon Gods since the founding of the Church, but over time the influence of his priests within the church grew. They had always had somewhat of a rivalry with Astilabor's followers but were mostly ignored by them since the servants of Astilabor wielded most of the power within the Church. However, as they became more and more influential, it also became clear that a conflict was inevitable.
The servants of Task believed themselves more worthy of leading the Draconic Church and officially renamed their Archpriest to the Aspect of Task in 805 AD as a response to Astilabor's clergy. Outrage followed and skirmishes soon broke out between the Order of the Crystal Rose and the Golden Swords, Task's Paladins. Before all-out war broke out, the Aspects of both deities met in 808 AD and signed a truce. Things had to be worked out, and after four long years of debating, in 812 AD, on the anniversary of the founding of the Draconic church, a great theological debate was organized in the Grand Temple in Wyckarin.
Representatives of all the Dragon gods were present at the debate, and twelve great minds of Astilabor and Task were given the floor to present their arguments before the judgment of their peers. The debate lasted for a whole month and after it was finished the priests of Astilabor stood victorious, as ruled by a vote of the other Gods' representatives.
The servants of Task were unwilling to accept this and announced they were leaving the Church as they would not accept the Aspect's rule. The Church responded by outlawing the worship of Task altogether and so the Sect of Task was born.

Tenets of Faith
While Astilabor was the deity of acquisition with no stigma of greed attached, Task was greed personified. He wanted it all, and it mattered not to him what he had to do or what it cost to others to obtain what he wanted. His worshipers share the same attitude.
Task revered greed and selfishness, and sometimes rewarded followers who showed these traits in excess. One such gift said to be granted to his followers was turning them into hoarder dragons on death so they could guard their treasure against opportunistic looters. While it was thought that his rewards were never material, since Task was believed to be unable to give up anything he owned, truly faithful, meaning greedy, followers are rewarded with material goods created by Task himself, such as the case of the blue dragon Amilektrevitrioelis who was granted the Shackles of Amilek.

Priesthood
The Sect of Task has managed to remain relatively secretive, despite their persecution. Still, some truths can be gleaned from Task's sacred texts and the Church has managed to extract some information from captured members of the sect.
The Sect is lead by the Aspect of Task, though it is unknown who currently holds the title. The sect is further divided into small groups, called Gems, each led by a High Priest of Task, who can only be appointed by the Aspect. The High priests are unaware of each other's location and don't know the members of their respective groups.
