Bearkin

Bearkin are a race of people originating from bears and are one of the most diverse races across all of Anasol they are a nomadic people who often live in forests and jungles around the world and feel uncomfortable in cityscapes, this often leads these folk into seeking aspects of nature rather than holy or arcane magic. However, during their time of traveling, they became vastly different in size and color. Black Bearkin: They are the least nomadic of the bearkin, often huddling together in their caves. They have a matriarchal society. Those bands that live in the Underdark often prefer the presence of Svirfneblin and are typically tolerated by the Drow due to their matriarchal societies. The Duergar however are often at odds with them, however. Brown Bearkin: Most common of all the bearkin, brown bearkin are typically lead by an alpha male much like orcish societies but their lower population and more defensive sensibilities make them seem less savage than the orcs in the eyes of urbanites. Due to their commonality, Brown bearkin often serve as mercenaries in armies. Polar Bearkin: The more savage and barbaric of the bearkin, they get along well with Goliath societies in Hurofjord. While most bearkin travel in bands, it is common to see Polar bearkin live isolated, staying only with their families until they grow and leave on their own. They only gather together when dealing with important matters concerning their people. Panda Bearkin: These bearkin are the closest to nature and mystical abilities. They live in the Hikami islands, a perfect place for them and became great allies with the local kitsune. They are often the most sociable of the bearkin and are very hospitable to anyone who needs a meal. Koala Bearkin: The smallest of the bearkins, they are native to the land of Sanatrin. They gather in small numbers, but they are expert climbers and hunter-gathers. They normally live in hot and dry areas with large trees. They often take a more casual disposition to life and are often found napping. When they are awake, they are very diligent and are willing to help those in need.
