Personal history
Born in 1063, young Aleksandr spent his early years in Castle Bogdanovsk, completely protected and isolated from political unrests in crumbling Tsardom. His carefree childhood ended in 1073 when assassins from rival duke murdered his parents. As the only child, he inherited the lands and castles of his parents, but was constantly manipulated by his court advisors and his uncle and regent Stavrog Bogdanovsky, who latter usurped his nephew and secured duchy for himself. His rule wouldn't last long as last Tsar of Belgorod Pyotr IV died heirless and the decade long civil war erupted known as Age of Anarchy, which ended in complete fragmentation of Tsardom and rise Principalities and City-state republics. Seeing no other alternatives, Aleksandr advisors convinced him to seek protection from other princes and become their vassal. Nikolaus Karegin, his most trusted advisors chose Prince Yaroslav of Malensk Principality as their new master, a choice that would later doom him. Fearing his rise in power, nobles of Malensk assassinated Karegin and exiled others, leaving now 16 year old Aleksandr to survive on his own on hostile court.
Learning from mistakes of Karegin, Aleksandr decided to be more careful in politics of court and dedicated most his time instead to military affairs. His first battle was at the fields of Krasnoyar, alongside his new mentor Vasily Khodarkov against city states of Magnograd and Syktavar, distinguishing himself as a capable soldier and leader of light cavarly regiment, crashing into the right flank of enemy army and capturing Prince of Magnograd and many of his relatives. Utilizing his highly mobile troops to the full extent, he left outskirts of enemy city states completely ravaged and his fame spread throughout Belgorodian realm. At age 22 he was unexpectedly chosen as an heir of Yaroslav whose children either died of smallpox or in military campaigns. Furious nobles united against this decision. Finding himself in the same turmoil he was when he was a 10-year-old boy, Aleksandr decided to fight against Malensk elites, gaining support from lesser nobility and citizens, promising to expand their rights and curb the influence of most influential nobles on city. Although he was initially successful in driving Malensk elites from city, he was soon surrounded by his old enemies from Magnograd and Syktavar started siege of the city and Malensk elites used their wealth to bribe Aleksandrs men to join them instead. Abandoned by almost everyone, he and last of his loyal men tried to escape from besieged city but were unfortunately detected and captured by night guard.
Aleksandr was sent to the Gorgos mountain mines to work there until his death. After 2 years of careful planning, he and a small group of miners escaped. With no money or possessions, he left his group and went for Belakov, minor city state that just declared independence from his former overlords. When he arrived on the outskirts of Belakov in late summer 1088, entire population was in panic; Malensk army, led by newly elected prince Sergey Valerin will arrive in two days and city's defense was weak. Seeing this as an opportunity to have his revenge on Malensk elites, Aleksandr joined militia of the city and was soon sent with his company to fight the raiding parties of Malensk army. In the heat of battle some generals and members of city council recognized him and had him arrested for espionage. After explaining his conflict with Malensk nobles and his years of toiling in mines of Gongor leader of City council Valery Bunyachenko decided to release Aleksandr and gave him command of all militias of city, shocking generals and Aleksandr with this decision, but Valery knew how much the odds were stacked against them and he decided to gamble everything on this 24-year-old dirty exiled noble of duchy that was basically erased from the maps. Facing the enemy army on the river Lenka, Aleksandr was using all his skills to defend the bridge, but the small army of militiamen was slowly being pushed by numerically superior Malensk soldiers. Seeing that his troops were going to collapse under pressure, he charged in the heat of battle with his personal guard, encouraging his troops with energetic charge but it still wasn't enough to turn the tide of battle. But then, enemy general-prince suddenly appeared before him and demanded duel. Knowing this was his only opportunity to save himself and his troops, he accepted the challenge. Both exchanged deadly blows with their swords and soldiers of both sides stopped fighting to witness the duel. Both duelists were expert swordsman but Aleksandr was more cunning and defeated prince and killed him. This demoralized enemy troops who decided to retreat. Aleksandr was proclaimed savior of Belakov and was soon named Belakovsky.
