Morticaro - Artificer
Artificers are the epitome of "necessity is the mother of invention". When an exceptionally skilled artificer decides that the necessity is immortality, they turn to necromancy. A Morticaro is the perfection of magic and ingenuity. the idea is that instead of preventing death and damage, they will replace the pieces that are dying or broken. A Morticaro's lab will have a stockpile of spare parts that they could replace anything from limbs to eyes or internal organs
The Morticaro's phylactery is their own heart. Most Morticaro's will end their ritual by removing their own heart and replacing it with one of someone who just recently died or that they had killed themselves. Once the first process has been completed, they Morticaro is absolutely free to put as many working hearts, lungs, stomachs, or anything else that might fail due to injury or age
The Morticaro's ritual to maintain themselves is less magical than the rest of the Lich's. Simply put, they must maintain their body, safeguard their original heart, and keep both alive by whatever means necessary. The Morticaro must keep up their maintenance more and more frequently as the decades pass as the pieces seem to decay at an increasingly rapid rate
The Morticaro is one of the easier Lich's to defeat. They are still incredibly powerful and magical beings with high intellects and patience with traps and inventions that would be guarding their home, phylactery, and themselves. If caught in a battle away from their original heart, you would have to kill it as many times as it would take to stop each addition that they have put in themselves. Many Morticaro's will also take pieces from other creatures to add to themselves like a basilisk eye for example. This process takes more time with experimentation and the Morticaro is able to shrink the organ down or modify it to fit inside themselves if necessary
