Harrow - Druid

There is a common misconception that Druids are about life and preserving nature when in fact, Druids are about nature and death is as much a part of nature as life is. There are some that take that notion to an extreme and perform the ritual to become a Harrow. Harrows are the antonym of life, they exist to keep everything in check and to spread as much as possible. They are easily the most symbolic of the Lich's. Most often, a Harrow will dwell deep in a forest or woodland as they work to complete their initial ritual

A Harrow's Phylactery is a single plant. It can be a great tree, a beautiful flower, or a single blade of grass. Once the being completes their ritual, the plant of their choice becomes immortal to the elements of nature and time, it will continue to live as long as the Harrow does just as the Harrow will live as long as the plant does

Instead of a new ritual that the Harrow must perform like most other Lich's, the Harrow must constantly feed life energy into their phylactery. It will start with the grass around it, which will spread to the bushes, reaching up to the trees above, animals that cannot sense the impending spread of rot and decay will soon join the plants as only the strongest of beings are capable of living within a Harrow's domain. The trees will turn to rubber with rot, the earth will turn to a thick black ichor with a consistency of syrup, the wind and air will grow stale and difficult to breathe. If the Harrow is wise, they will spread their plague across the land in a circular pattern for protection unless they have some other geographical means of keeping their phylactery safe

A Harrow must continue its spread in order to remain; it does not gain power with the more it takes in however meaning that the Harrow has a ceiling of power that it can reach. The Harrow is capable of moving its plant to a new center so to speak. This process is risky for the Harrow as it will not have the terrain and a domain that it is familiar with to defend itself or its plant
