Alcohol Variations
Humans
Humans have taken inspiration from a wide variety of the races and therefore have created many different types of ales, meads, beers, wines, etc. Because of this, most races are able to drink their makings. Some may find that their brews are too weak or perhaps too strong but nevertheless, it's the most common and most frequently enjoyed
Elves
While the Elves tend to view themselves at a higher standing in most professions or activities than the other races, there is one thing that they tend to fall short on, drinking. A typical Elven made drink with the purpose of getting drunk is a wine. They take great care in its craft and enjoy it at their dinners or meetings. If you were to ask one of them they would tell you that the taste is exquisite and it is more than enough to enjoy an evening. However, most other races will tell you that it tastes like sparkling water and has much of the same effect
Dwarves
Dwarves are known for their sturdiness, craftsmanship, hardiness, outgoing personalities, and of course drinking. Their ales, beers, and stouts are renown throughout the world for being some of the hardest hitting drinks around. If a Dwarf challenges you to a contest, beware because they have been drinking harder stuff since they were teens
Gnomes
Gnomes are of the smallest but most magical of races and are relatively new to any kind of alcohol. After being introduced to the drink, they very quickly took a liking to it. And being the enchanting and tinkering race that they are, they very quickly mastered the craft. Gnomes like to party and they party hard. Their drinks rival that of the Dwarves both in quality and price
Tieflings
Being Hellspawn, Tieflings have a natural affinity towards heat. Their specialty makes are spiced meads but they crank up the heat. Drinking one would give you the same sensation of getting drunk but eating a hot pepper at the same time
Dragonborn
Dragonborn being the reptilian folk that they are, have entirely different taste buds, stomach linings, and drinks. They have a thick leathery skin lining their throat, the hottest of black coffees wouldn't bother them. They love their own liquors but to most other races, it's difficult to get down and tastes akin to turpentine
Orcs
Orcs are known for carrying their alcohol in large barrels, vats, or animal skins. They set them down in their hovels and everyone has a free for all to get in while it's there. Other races however have a very hard time drinking or selling the stuff making it rather hard to find. It has the consistency of a non-Newtonian fluid and you almost need to chew it. It's a thick viscous ichor that has a rich irony taste to it
Goblins
Who the hell knows how these little gremlins make their liquor. From the same barrel, you could get two cups with different tastes, consistencies, color, sometimes one will be a little chunky or perhaps crunchy
Kobold
The smallish reptilian creatures are known for their impulsivity and desire to quench their own needs as quickly as they can. As such, they are very susceptible to the devil's nectar and cannot handle many other drinks for too long including their own. Their situation is similar to both the Dragonborn and Goblins. It's not as fowl as the Goblin makes and not as . . . tasteful as the Dragonborn but it is a mix of the two
Lizardfolk
Lizardfolk are known for their barbaric and swamp like homelands have made a drink that looks, smells, and tastes like murk water. It is not for a good time, it is not for the faint of heart, but it will get most people where they need to be
Tortle
Tortle's are renown for their teas. They prefer a calmer and relaxing drink that anyone can enjoy if they slow down and take the time to taste it. Rather than being drunk, they prefer a drink that gets them a little high
Kenku
Kenku are typically always on the move. Akin to gypsies, you will find them in caravans traveling the lands and they, like everybody else, like to drink. They have special carriages just for making their liqours that taste like a very sweet gin
Tabaxi
Tabaxi are typically tribal or lead similar lifestyles to that of the Kenku but a little more goal driven. Because of this, they have not actually made a wide spread alcoholic drink yet. Instead, they have created a series of concoctions where they take a clay bowl and grind lots of herbs and various plants into it. They add water and put it over a fire and let it boil, then they inhale the vapors and it gives the user a nice high. One thrifty Tabaxi was able to actually bottle this vapor and distribute it for others to enjoy, it comes at a high price because it loses its potency over time making it a commodity
Goliath
The old traditions of the Goliath run deep. Their alcohol of choice is a specialty, a made for order milk-based vodka. Actually having a low alcohol content, it is rich in vitamins and nutrients needed for building a healthy body and strong barbarian
