    Era of the Akostón Empire
    Era beginning/end

During the period of the Initial Civilization, the Akostón peoples dominated the majority of the Auraleaf Coast, subjugating many of the other Orcs, Humans, Elves, and Gnomes that lived alongside them. Just before the Fall of the God-Kin, it's said that the Akostón people were carried out of the Auraleaf Coast by a great phoenix, and never returned.

The Battle of Heaven and Earth
    Disaster / Destruction

After the Akostón people left the Auraleaf Coast, many of the other races began attempting to fill the power vacuum that arose, however all attempts were thwarted by another, similar battle for power occurring in the heavens above. The modern accounts of this event frame the Battle of Heaven and Earth as the struggle between the now commonly worshipped Dawn War pantheon, and the old, fervently hated Akostón pantheon that preceded them. It's during this battle, which lasted an entire month, that Pelor was said to have smited the old gods down to the depths of the coast's waters, shattering the earth below to form a prison deep enough to keep them contained by the ocean's weight. In his divine radiance, he blessed all the nearby lifeforms with a golden color, defining the coast as his domain.

    Rise of the Crown Empire
    Founding

The humans left in the wake of the Battle of Heaven and Earth saw themselves as Pelor's children, and determined that as this land was now under Pelor's light, it was proper for the people to also be unified in his name. The Crown Empire, dedicated to upholding the tenants of Pelor and the benevolent gods of the Dawn War pantheon, ushered in a new era of naval conquest, and affirmed control over the various disparate kingdoms that lingered in the region.
