Torlock

CW: Articles regarding Darkspawn do contain written descriptions of graphic violence and body horror imagery. Some may find the content disturbing. Discretion is advised.

The monstrous, titanic brutes of the Darkspawn horde. Fortunately they are rarely seen outside of the Blight but if you are unfortunate enough to find one, it is best to pray for a swift death. Their crushing fists and bone crushing bite may feel obliged to grant it.

Culture

Average technological level

While Torlocks are generally considered to be among the most simple-minded of the Darkspawn, there are ancient texts which reveal a shivering notion. Some "Alpha" variants have been seen with massive platemail-like armour which only adds to the towering beasts awful presence. Though Torlocks in their basal forms are rarely seen wielding an form of weaponry, alphas are sometimes seem with enormous polearms, hammers, and axes.

Ideals

Gender Ideals

"No darkspawn seem to have any form of sexual genitalia or sexual dimorphism. Bizarre. Even plants exhibit something akin to such things. How do thing creatures reproduce? Is it possible that they are created? Yet, why is it that the Torlocks seem to have a predilection to abducting women? Darkspawn of other varieties kill everything in their path; with Torlocks the exception. I pray to the gods that those poor people die quickly..."    From the Journal of Praeceptor Alexius Guilnius

Relationship Ideals

Torlocks are rarely seen in isolation. Often times they are accompanied by shorlocks which can only be described as some form of special force or guerilla unit designed to strike hard and fast against particular targets. However, this is a highly contentious issue as the implications of such high levels of coordination and command are truly terrifying.

Charge: If the Torlock moves at least 10 feet straight forward toward a target and then hits it with a headbutt attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 14 (3d8) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be pushed up to feet away and be knocked prone.   Reckless: At the start of its turn, the torlock can gain advantage on all melee weapon attack rolls it makes during that turn, but attack rolls against it have advantage until the start of its next turn.

Actions

Multiattack: The torlock makes two unarmed strikes   Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft. one target. Hit: 16 (3d6+6) bludgeoning damage.   Headbutt. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5ft. one target. Hit: 19 (3d8+6) bludgeoning damge. On a hit the target must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.   Stomp. The torlock stomps with its feet on the ground. All creatures in a 5 feet radius around the torlock must make a DC 16 Strength saving throw or fall prone.

Torlocks are very rarely seen. Usually the sight of one is indication that a horde is about to emerge. This hulking beasts tower over their kin and use their immense strength to smash fortifications and men alike.
