The Blight

When the Darkspawn horde emerged from the southern jungles of The Lost Kingdom, the sapient species were completely unprepared. The horde ravaged the western half of the continent for over two generations. Kingdoms fell to ash, entire populations were wiped out, and known civilization nearly collasped. The first grand alliance between human, dwarf, and elf eventually broke the horde and scattered them back into the dark jungles of the south. Yet, when the dust settled and peace returned to the world, the people responded with abject silence. A small dark age lost much of what had once been, most records had been destroyed and no one seemed to even want to remember the horrors.
