Dimblewolf Brindlebucket

Vikeengrier of Harviken, the last of the Haakon's Fang, Bane of Thera, Scourge of the Northern Seas, Crusher of Dragon Bones, Slayer of Manticores, Victor of the Bear Gauntlet (a.k.a. Smalls)

A boisterous and capricious Crowner halfling. He is known for making epitaphs for himself and shouting them out as a victory cry.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

A brawny, yet lithe, halfling—Dimblewolf is a fine physical specimen. With a well toned back, rope calloused hands and sea-salted hair, he does well when underestimated by the unwise.   He also has long, brown unkept hair. He has a short beard that comes to a neat point at his chin. The only thing covering his upper body is the fur pelt from a grey wolf, a piece of wood covered in tribal markings, which he wears at the end of a necklace, and tribal tattoos. He wears simple brown pants and brown boots. Dimblewolf carries a battle axe in one hand and a circular shield in the other, unless he is raging, in which case the shield is slung and the axe swung freely.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Dimblewolf was born in a small burrow with his family near Burford on the island of Harviken. As Vikeengriers, his family were slow to accept the "reign" or loose alignment of the Radian Empire over the island. Dimblewolf was taught the religion of Hakkon Wintersbreath—a faith he follows to this day. When his family could no longer provide for themselves, Dimblewolf set off to find money and was asked to establish a new burrow wherever he liked.    Dimblewolf was one of the first members of the Hakkon's Fang. Initially, the sailors were slow to take on the Radian Empire as their rulers but accepted the coin sent for raiding Theran ships and coastlines. They would sail along the freezing north shores of Thera and strike lone ships or undefended villages for loot. They could keep anything that they pillaged and the Radians would pay them to do it.   The Radians named the crew vikings after the Crowner word for sailor (Vikeengrier) and the Therans called them pirates or dreaded raiders.   The crew kept Dimblewolf on as a mighty, if small, warrior and called him "Smalls" until the captain traded in the viking life for an attempt at Radian nobility. As part of the trade, the captain was able to grant official Radian citizenship to the crew.   Without a ship or a captain, the crew broke up and Dimblewolf was left to search for loot on land throughout the Radian Empire. He still carries a part of the ship around his neck to remind himself who he truly is—a viking.   Dimblewolf died young of a strange and incurable disease but not before giving all of his possessions and memories to the administrators of "cold-con" so that he may rise again and go viking. Dimbewolf was the last of the "Hakkon's Fang".

Education

From an early age, Dimblewolf was taught the Vikeengrier ways by his family. Rope making, star navigation and sail repairs were his first skills, which he took to with surprising ease. As he became older, he advanced to oarsmanship, keel hauling, and sailing. Eventually, he earned his right to learn combat, a skill he quickly began to excel in. During his off-hours, his family taught him the ways of Hakkon. He remembers his mother fondly calling him "my little cub".
