College d'Sol
The Solar College is the foremost ecclesiastic university in the country. Here, priests of all ranks come and gather to study many subjects, first and foremost being the study of Pelor's teaching, but with many other subjects being taught as well. These subjects range from medicine to magic, political science, and a host of other fields. Many who do not not wish to join the priesthood will come to attend classes as well.
For foreign kingdoms, L'College d'Sol is considered a cultural highlight and one of the empire's few redeeming qualities.
Design
The grounds have spent their tithes well and have built an impressive stone city within a city. Long halls and tall towers are separated by well kept gardens and courtyards.
Sensory & Appearance
Many new students comment how the smell of incense is overwhelming upon first arriving. Some even claim you can smell it from miles down the road. Also of note are the bell towers, which sing loudly and are usually punctuated with lectures and students shuffling between classes.
Valuables
The exact amount and content of the treasury is a closely kept secret. Few know where it is, and fewer still have even seen it. Though, many would argue that the true treasure is the long hall which houses a massive library of books from across the continent. Some say there is even a secret library which holds books and knowledge even more valuable still.
History
The college initially began as most things do, as a simple church in a modest town. However, during the Conquest of the Dawn, Godry Seic became a rally point for both soldiers and baggage trains. As peoples came in and out through the village, many sick and injured came to the church for last rights.
As time passed, this modest church grew to accommodate a hospital, a library, and a dormitory. Priests would begin to gather in courtyards to discuss philosophy, and eventually prominent bishops began to give lectures and sermons. This carried forward with more and more extensions and expansions until eventually, the simple Pelor chapel became L'College d'Sol.
