Mor Ailhenn
Geography
The Mor Ailhenn, or the Sea of Mist, is a large body of water located North-Northwest of the continent of Kornôgel. It is contiguous with the Mor Bras, but is more commonly associated with the Fortunate Isles, which are largely found within its waters.
The largest island, Gwenndoaur, forms the Eastern border of the waterbody, while Emain Ablach, takes up much of the West. Between these two landmasses are countless islands, including Phantom Islands1, Floating Islands2 and Skybound Islands3. These landmasses, hidden by the thick Feth Fiada that frequently blankets the sea, range heavily in size, habitability and population. Submarine locations and settlements are also found throughout the Mor Ailhenn.
Two undersea freshwater rivers, the Lli and the Archan flow through the Mistsea, forming prominent Meineg through the region, essential to the continued survival of its magical inhabitants. The Merfolk races use these currents for travel and trade. The rivers meet in a large Poull, which serves as a neutral ground for the exchange of ideas, negotiations and other meetings.
The Mor Ailhenn is separated from the Mor Bras by the Strait of the Dragon in the South and the rocky channel of Banba's Crown to the North.

Localized Phenomena
The Mistsea is named for a thick veil of Feth Fiada, that seems to constantly enshroud the region at all times, either clinging to the surface in wispy strands or rolling slowly across the area in impenetrable banks. From a great distance, the sea often appears as a solid mass of towering clouds.
Beyond the Straits of the Dragon, the Feth-Fiada is not as ever-present as the dramatic barrier would suggest, and pockets of the sea experience sunny, clear days. However, the mist grows heavier as an unfamiliar ship or windship enters its waters, obscuring navigation to outsiders. The Lavigerien Guild has erected tall spires, topped with glowing crystals, to guide ships along known channels.
It is quite possible to become lost in the thick fog, crossing over into dangerous stretches of Faewylde or even into Magh Mor, the land of the dead. Ghostly Bag Noz, crewed by the souls of the dead, are often seen in the sea, more than any other waterbody in Alvez.
