Personal history
Following the death of his father, Clovis I, King of Gallia, Childebert and his 3 brother each inherited parts of the Kingdom. Childebert held from the city of Per-Ys to the Marches of Neustria, but slowly amassed his brothers lands via conquest, murder and diplomacy. He led the Gallian alliance that ultimately defeated Conomor the Cursed, establishing Gwened and Naoned as puppet states under Conomor's son, Judael, until the latter's ouster by Tewdr Mwar, the grandson of Budig II, High King of the Bretoned.
Childebert was a fervent supporter of the Southern Church, furthering the work of conversion begun by his father.
