The Emerald Sea

Nestled between Galliand and Tal Asir lies the narrow Emerald Sea, named as such for the vivid green of these waters. It could also be said it is called the Emerald Sea for how valuable the trade is between the elvish continent and human lands. The warmest sea in the east, the breezes are calm and waters fair but the storms here are the fiercest outside the Godsea and sailing during the squall season can be a death sentence. This sea is filled with many small islands and plentiful hiding places for the many outlaws that prey upon the numerous trading fleets. Pirates run rampant in the west and the nations that border the Emerald Sea are hard pressed to keep them under control. Spices and elven lumber are among the most valuable goods that are exchanged while gems and metals are close contenders. Elves are the dominant sailors in this sea, and their heritage is plainly shown as they are the greatest sailors in the world, save for the Pelagic Royal Navy who also hold a strong presence in the western reaches of the sea. Valeria and Asira however, have been gaining in power in the eastern waters and the already warm sea is heating up.
